Citrus plants are a great option for a tropical plant selection in your home or garden. They help clean the air, their flowers have the most beautiful scent and as a bonus, they provide edible fruit right in your home. If you have a very sunny well-ventilated room like a sunroom, citrus plants are an excellent choice for you.
Citrus plants are also great for the outdoors after the frost-free date (usually about the end of May here in the Oakville, Mississauga and Milton areas). Usually when the day and night temperatures remain relatively the same, that is the perfect time for citrus plants to move outside. They should be placed in a shady spot, and gradually moved into full sun over a couple of weeks to prevent leaf scorch. They should then stay in the sun for the rest of the summer since they benefit fro having more sun exposure. Please note that Citrus plants will need to come inside well before frost.
